Perth quadriplegic Christian Rossiter has won a landmark legal justification giving him the right to starve himself to fatality, but now says he could but be talked out of taking his life.

Mr Rossiter, who won the assess to have his feeding tube indifferent in a judgment delivered on Friday by West Australian Chief Justice Wayne Martin, thanked the judge for his benevolence.

Speaking by road of a tracheotomy tube at Perth’s Brightwater care facility, everywhere he lives, Mr Rossiter said he was lucky including the intention of he had won the proper to die.

“I’m pleased including the intention of I won my proper to die, and (have) no sustenance and no water,” he said.

“The judge was so kindly including the intention of he painstaking those, including the intention of he set a legal precedent in Australian law.

“Including the intention of comparable quadriplegics can choose whether or not they want to live.”

Mr Rossiter stated he would seek out additional medical help from an experienced person palliative care doctor previous to deciding not to be fed by means of a tube to his stomach.

He said here was some chance he could be dissuaded from ordering the tube to his stomach to be indifferent.

“I want to end my life, but following I speak to a medical skilled,” Mr Rossiter stated.

“He could dissuade me.

“I have to seek out advice.

“Here’s a possibility I could still be dissuaded.”
