/> I have been suffering with a kidney stone for months now, and for whatever reason the surgery has been prolonged for an extreme amount of time (3 months). I have spoke to my doctor about the severe amount of discomfort I have been in, but he just gives me percocet or some thing for bladder spasms. Even though he was on vacation I was in unbearable pain and knew I necessary to see somebody so I spoke with an additional doctor in his office. After describing my pain/problems she replied that it was typical of the stent (which has been in location this whole time) and I told her it felt like something else but she shook her head and disagreed. I ended up having a severe UTI, but now that I have been taking percocet for such a lengthy time I feel that I have built a tolerance to it (not a dependence- I assure you I only take it when required). With a stent in location my physician says I shouldn’t feel any discomfort, but it would seem as if I am an exception to this rule.

I usually take two percocet (my doctor is aware of this) and can feel relief within 15 minutes or much less, but the past week or so I feel nothing and the pain is persistent. I am in excurciating discomfort now. If you’ve ever had a kidney stone you will comprehend where I’m coming from and my need for relief. My physician seems to ignore what I tell him I feel and I am only sent property from the ER with a prescription for percocet when I go. I would consult my physician for his “guidance” but all the offices are closed for the night.

So acquiring away from the background information and to my question:
Do you feel it would be safe to take 2 and 1/two percocet or even 3?
Height: 5’5
Weight: 130
Percocet Dosage: 5-325mg

I am concerned about the “pain level” becoming out of control and me having to go to the ER (only to be sent residence) so I appreciate any feedback you may possibly have.

Thank you for taking the time to read (and answer).

Best answer:

Answer by Nurse For 20 Years
When somebody takes discomfort meds for an extended period of time, it is not unusual to create a tolerance to them.
Though Percocet does come in a stronger dosage, this isn’t genuinely what you should do. It possibly wouldn’t hurt you at all, but it will make you run out of your meds sooner and your physician will question how you took them all so fast if you up how many you are taking every time.
Instead, stick with the prescribed dosage and call your doctor in the morning ASAP.

Know greater? Leave your own answer in the comments!
<div
